CBSE Class 12 supplementary review: apply on September 7-8
## The short answer
Yes. CBSE Class 12 supplementary examinees can apply for verification of marks, re-evaluation, or both on September 7 and 8, 2026. This applies only to students who first requested a scanned copy of the evaluated answer book during the August 31–September 1 window.
CBSE issued the notice CBSE/Coord/Veri/Class-XII/2026 dated August 27, 2026 after declaring the Class 12 supplementary results. The process is online. No offline, late, or post-deadline application will be accepted.
## What changed
CBSE has confirmed the order of the three steps:
1. Scanned answer book first. This lets you see how your answers were checked and how marks were awarded. 2. Verification of marks and/or re-evaluation next. You can request a check of the marks or ask CBSE to re-evaluate selected full questions. 3. The result may change up or down. CBSE says even a decrease of one mark will be applied.
The scanned-copy window was open from August 31 to September 1, 2026. That stage has now ended. The next window is for students who applied correctly for the scanned copy and received it in their login account.
Verification of marks means checking for issues such as an unchecked answer, an incorrect total, or marks not transferred correctly to the cover page. Re-evaluation means asking CBSE to review a complete question again. Re-evaluation is allowed only for the theory portion. It is not available for only part of a question.
For this supplementary-examination notice, CBSE lists a fee of ₹100 per answer book for verification and ₹100 per question for re-evaluation. The notice also says the fee will be refunded if marks increase after verification or re-evaluation. Do not rely on social-media posts or the widely repeated ₹69,000 figure. That figure is incorrect.
### Dates and fees
| Service | Who can use it | Dates | Fee | |---|---|---:|---:| | Scanned copy of evaluated answer book | Students who want to inspect their checked answer book | August 31–September 1, 2026 | ₹100 per subject | | Verification of marks | Students who applied for the scanned copy | September 7–8, 2026 | ₹100 per answer book | | Re-evaluation | Students who applied for the scanned copy | September 7–8, 2026 | ₹100 per question | | Both verification and re-evaluation | Eligible students who want both services | September 7–8, 2026 | Fee applies to each selected service |
CBSE says payment must be made online through UPI, debit or credit card, or net banking. The Board will not accept cash, cheque, demand draft, money order, or postal order.
## What you must do next
1. Check your CBSE login account now. Confirm that the scanned answer book for the subject you selected is available. 2. Read the scanned copy carefully. Check whether every answer was marked, whether the totals are correct, and whether the marks on the cover page match the result shown online. 3. Compare doubtful answers with the official marking scheme. CBSE says re-evaluation requests must name the full question and include reasoning. 4. Apply online on September 7 or September 8, 2026. Select verification, re-evaluation, or both. Do not wait until the final hours if you can avoid it. 5. Save the application and payment confirmation. Keep screenshots and the transaction number. 6. Check the status in the same login account. CBSE says the outcome will be communicated there and the re-evaluation status will be uploaded on its website.
If you do nothing, your supplementary result will remain as declared. If you miss the September 7–8 window, CBSE says late or offline applications will not be accepted. If marks change, you may have to surrender the marks statement-cum-certificate already in your possession so that CBSE can issue a new one.
## Who this does NOT apply to
This notice does not apply to Class 10 students, students who took the main Class 12 examination but not the supplementary examination, or students seeking a fresh review of practical or internal-assessment marks. It also does not reopen the earlier scanned-copy window. Students who did not apply for the scanned answer book in the prescribed way are not eligible for the later verification or re-evaluation stage. The notice is for the Class 12 supplementary examination 2026 only; it is not a new general review window for all CBSE results.
CBSE also says that a re-evaluation decision is final. There is no further appeal or review against that re-evaluation result. Students and parents should use only CBSE’s official website and the login account used for the application.
