CBSE Class 10 post-result review window closed on August 19

CBSE’s Class 10 post-result review window for 2026 has closed. The Board accepted applications for scanned answer books, verification of marks and re-evaluation from August 5 to August 19, 2026. If you did not apply by the scheduled dates, you cannot submit a new request under this process now.

## What changed

The new notice covers students who appeared in the Class 10 Main Board Examination, the Second Board Examination, or both. CBSE’s notice is numbered CBSE/Coord/Verification/Class-X/2026-27 and dated August 5, 2026.

The process had two stages:

1. Scanned copy: The student first requested a scanned copy of the evaluated answer book. This means a digital copy showing how the answers were checked and how marks were awarded. 2. Verification or re-evaluation: After receiving the scanned copy, the student could ask CBSE to check the marks or re-evaluate one or more full answers.

A student had to obtain the scanned copy before applying for verification or re-evaluation. CBSE did not accept direct applications for the second stage without the scanned answer book.

The 2026 notice also gives a special rule for students who took the same subject in both the Main and Second Board Examinations. Such a student could request scanned copies of both answer books. However, verification or re-evaluation could be requested for only one of them. Once the student selected the Main Exam answer book or the Second Exam answer book, the other answer book could not be used for these facilities.

This is important because a student could not ask CBSE to review both attempts in the same subject. The choice had to be made carefully after comparing the result, the question paper and the marking scheme.

CBSE also warned that revised marks could increase, decrease or remain unchanged. Even a fall of one mark would be implemented. If marks changed, the student would have to surrender the existing Mark Statement cum Certificate and receive a new one. CBSE said the result of verification or re-evaluation would be final.

These figures are for the Class 10 2026 notice. Do not copy fees from Class 12 notices or social-media posts. We found no basis in this Class 10 notice for the often-repeated “Rs 69,000” figure. That figure should not be used.

CBSE stated that all applications and payments had to be made online. Offline applications and applications filed after the scheduled date and time were not accepted. The notice also said that the fee would be refunded if marks increased after verification or re-evaluation, to the same account from which the fee was paid.

1. If you already applied: Log in to the official Class 10 post-result portal and check your application status and outcome. CBSE said status updates would be uploaded to the candidate login account. It would not send a separate personal message for every update. 2. If you requested a scanned copy: Download and save it. Check whether every answer was evaluated, whether marks were entered correctly and whether the totals match the marking scheme. 3. If you selected re-evaluation: Remember that CBSE required the full question number and a reason for the request. Re-evaluation was available for the full question, not only part of a question. 4. If you missed the August 19 deadline: Do not pay a third party claiming that it can open the closed window. Under the August 5 notice, late and offline applications were not accepted. Watch only CBSE’s official website for any separate future notice. 5. If your marks change: Keep your old certificate safe until CBSE explains the replacement process. The notice says a revised Mark Statement cum Certificate will be issued when marks change.

## Who this does NOT apply to

This notice does not apply to Class 12 students, Class 9 or Class 11 students, or students seeking a review of practical or internal-assessment marks. CBSE’s notice says verification and re-evaluation are available only for the theory portion of the Class 10 examination. It also does not create a new compartment or improvement form window. Students who appeared in neither the 2026 Main nor Second Class 10 Board Examination are outside this process. The notice is also not a promise that CBSE will reopen the portal after August 19.
